Sunday Brunch from Jeanne

1. Who taught you how to drive?
My husband taught me how to drive. He wasn't my husband then, just an acquaintance who offered to take over after my father who was teaching me, had a heart attack. (totally unrelated to his instruction, by the way!)

2. How old were you when you got your driver's license?
I think I was about 20.

3. What kind of vehicle(s) do you own?
Right now we drive a 2000 Subaru Liberty. We've had a variety from a Renault R4 with the gear lever coming out of the dashboard and then bending upwards in an L-shape, to a big Studebaker wagon and several other Renaults and Peugeots. Also had other continental cars such as a big Volvo wagon and a Saab.
4. Is it an automatic or stick shift?
Neither of us likes automatics at all. We would always choose a manual if there was a choice.

5. Do you keep the inside of your vehicle sparkly clean, fairly clean
or pretty much messy?

You would think that now the children are grown up, the car would be immaculate. As we have only one car, it means my husband drives it almost exclusively. He is a hoarder and a messer. Once a piece of paper gets in the car, it's good-bye to it. However, he did give it a good clearout a couple of weeks ago, the first for at least 18 months. The car got such a surprise that it drove itself into the gutter in a righthand corner. It's been at the repairer's for the last ten days or so and will be there at least another week!.
