Somewhere between 10,000 and 20,000 people marched against war on Iraq and also against terrorism today. And another ugly twist to terrorism with the bombing in Mombasa.

Lovely thunderstorm here today and yesterday. It would be wonderful if it could rain all weekend. The south western town of Griffith was enveloped by a huge dust storm for several hours today. The storm had a front of many kilometres. Tonnes of our good earth were swept away because the drought has killed most vegetation which would have protected the ground.

This site is typical of the Anglican Diocese in Sydney. I have much admiration for many things they do and , if push came to shove, I suppose I would call myself an evangelical fairly much in accordance witgh their beliefs. There is however, a lot I disagree with, in particular thier view that everyone else must be wrong as only they are right. Anglican Media Sydney

We have the Parramatta ministers' fraternal meeting here next Monday evening dor a Christmas BBQ. My husband attends their meetings as an ex officio member, although he is not ordained. It's a "bring your own meat " sort of do, but I need to put some thought into side dishes and I certainly need to do some tidying up.

I must remove Wright's name from my reading list in the sidebar. I just haven't had the time to devote to his works lately. I enjoy his writings and appreciate the research and thought that has gone into them, but they are not a quick read at all.

We need to pray for rain. Many fires even around Sydney after the extremely hot days lately. (43 degrees celsius in outer suburbs,) Today is cooler, but there is a strong southerly blowing. While it is bringing relief from the heat, it is making things awkward for firefighters.

Mangoes... the very epitome of summer fruit. And I've just eaten an enormous one. So juicy I had to lean over the sink.

OOOPS. Just noticed that last week I called cherries the epitome of summer. Must think of something more original.
