The government has issued warnings of a possible terrorist attack in Australia, sometime in the next few months. Says it has credible evidence. However it is very general with nothing specific mentioned. Some experts are backing them, others say they should be more specific.

When I was out walking very early this morning, I noticed that the ants' nests in the park pathway had been all hilled up. We have ants in the kitchen and my arthritis returned with a vengeance yesterday. Perhaps we are to have some rain. That would be just wonderful.

Preparing for a stint of babysitting. Grandaughter tomorrow and I'm then at son's house Friday evening to babysit on Saturday while they are at a wedding. Son is part of bridal party. Baby does not know me really well, so things could be interesting, although her big brother is fairly easy to mind. Sometimes I wonder how I coped with 2 under sixteen months. Must have been much younger then.

Archbishop Jensen denies charges of nepotism. There are now four Jensens in prominent positions in this diocese. I have no doubt they are each extremely competent. That is typical of the family. However, it doen't look good and strongly resembles a power play. he says nepotism must include payment. His wife is working in an honourary capacity and so this is not nepotism. My dictionary does not mention money in the definition.

First fruits of summer. Yesterday I picked the first of the sweet bite cherry tomatoes from the bush I planted just a few weeks ago. They were absolutely wonderful. I had forgotten the difference in taste between homegrown tomatoes and shop bought ones. Also had the first cherries of the season. Not from my garden wrong climate for cherries. Cherries are the epitome of summer here and the season is so short. Smaller than usual because of the drought but very sweet. Also had some mango, again the first of the season for me. Such a wonderful aroma. I just love the summer fruit and had peaches for breakfast here.

The first fruits of all produce were to be dedicated to God by the ancient Israelites. Indeed I gave thanks most heartily for yesterday's bounty.

I've been blessed by so many things which have happened to me over the last couple of days. There were a couple of purchases which I just had to make. On both, I found the articles on sale at an amazing discount. Three times we have driven into extremely crowded carparks and wondered whether we would come at a different time. Three times, someone has pulled out of a spot just as we came to it. But perhaps the best of all was my 2 year old grand daughter. I had a sneezing fit at her place the other day. Each time I sneezed she said, "Bess you, Ganma," and gave me a kiss. Indeed I did feel blessed too.

Lots and lots of young teens at church this morning. Most encouraging to see.

Few things say "summer" more than cherries and we bought the first for the season yesterday. Smaller than usual because of the drought, but very sweet and dark. It's a pity the season is so short. We also bought some mangoes. Wonderful aromas fill the kitchen now along with the fresh bread I am making. Coffee and walnuts, an experiment to find a substitute for the coffee and date loaf sold by Baker's delight.
